Big hearted staff from Soak&Sleep in Surrey have helped raise £190 for Dimbleby Cancer Careby holding an afternoon tea fundraiser.

The event took place at the company’s headquarters in Guildford in April and with a selection of tasty savoury and sweet treats to try, the afternoon was jam-packed with lots of fun. The event was all part of our brand new #DimbleTea fundraising campaign.

Ruth Welton, 28, content manager for Soak&Sleep said:

“We have been keen supporters of the charity for years, undertaking various fundraisers as well as manufacturing the specially designed bolster pillows, which are given to those receiving treatment at Guy’s Cancer Centre where it is based. Our staff really do love to give their time and effort to support causes close to their hearts and we know these funds will be used to support the charity’s vital work in the cancer community. Due to the success and the love of the event by the team, we are going to plan another later in the year so watch this space!”

Our #DimbleTea campaign asks people to host a bake sale, afternoon tea or tea break to raise money. #DimbleTea was launched in March and has already raised over £1,200.

Robin Pritchard, Director at Dimbleby Cancer Care, said:

“We want to thank everyone from Soak&Sleep for hosting its #DimbleTea. This is our newest and most exciting fundraising campaign, so it was lovely to see everyone getting together to show their support! #DimbleTea is something that everyone can get involved in, and it’s so easy to organise thanks to the free supporters’ pack which is full of fundraising ideas. We’re so pleased how well the idea has taken off. Everyone loves a cup of tea and a slice of homemade cake. So grab your baking kit, round up your friends, family and workmates and help us to make a big difference to people facing cancer in the UK.”
