The Evening Standard this evening is leading with a headline that says CARE IN LONDON RATED UK’S WORST: 1,000 NEEDLESS CANCER DEATHS A YEAR.
Figures suggest that 400,000 Londoners will be living with cancer by the year 2030, with London hospitals currently underperforming against national and international standards. A report by NHS England’s London region says many lives could be saved with earlier detection of certain cancers including ovarian and stomach cancer.
