As you may have heard David Dimbleby explain, Dimbleby Cancer Care was founded as a result of the public’s generosity following the death of his father, Richard Dimbleby.
We exist to offer care and support to those affected by cancer.
We do this through funding care and research.
We have never previously fundraised or promoted ourselves, but now, as part of our desire to see better care and more research, we are changing.
Researching areas others don't
Only around 5% of cancer research spending in the UK is on care.
DCC provides up to £1m annually for research into cancer care & support.
Care centres that go beyond medical treatment
Over a quarter of people living with cancer receive no support other than treatment.
DCC's centres provide a range of care, comfort & support that goes beyond just treatment
